As a customer-service
oriented practice, we
understand that our
responsibility is to both
the patient and to the
physician and staff working
with that physician. We know
our physician clients and
their staff need accurate,
rapid and clinically
relevant diagnosis. We also
know they need excellent
communication, reliability
and availability from their
Pathologist consultants.
Their patients need the
same, along with a
competent, courteous
business office to first
minimize any need to contact
us, but then to be able to
resolve any matters that
might later arise. It is our
goal to consistently provide
the highest level of
service, even in today’s
hectic medical environment.
Broad experience, an
unmatched level of
excellence, exceptional
turnaround time, and ease of
referral are the fundamental
indicators we use to
constantly and consistently
provide worry free, one-stop
diagnostic specialty service
to you.
Experience:
• Our physicians are
well-trained, coming from
institutions that include
Stanford, Tulane, Yale,
Harvard,
University of California (UCSF,
UCSD, UCLA), USC, University
of Minnesota, and many
others. (Please see
the “Our Doctors” page for
more comprehensive
information.)
• Our physicians have
experience functioning as a
collegial team. Most group
members have been part of
Pathology Associates for at
least 6 years, and 5 of them
have worked together in this
practice for more
than 15 years.
• Pathology Associates
office staff members are
also highly experienced.
Many staff team members have
been employed with us for at
least 5 years, and some for
over 10 years.
Excellence:
Pathology Associates works
to maintain a culture of
excellence. We support one
another with internal
consultations, we review
each other’s work in ongoing
peer review, we obtain CME
relevant to the work we do,
and we don’t cut corners.
Our goal is to issue
clinically helpful reports,
for example comparing and
correlating case findings
with relevant prior
accessions from the patient.
We provide direct access to
a Pathologist at any time,
and we are pleased to
discuss any aspects of a
specific case with referring
Physicians. We maintain
contacts with
internationally respected
consultants and refer cases
to them, on our own
initiative, when prudent.
The all-important Anatomic
Pathology Laboratory
supporting us and directed
by us, is accredited by the
College of American
Pathologists, and has been
for many years.
Exceptional Turn-around
Time:
Over 80% of outpatient
surgical pathology cases are
processed and a final report
completed within 24 hours of
receiving the sample in our
laboratory. Nearly 95% are
completed within 48 hours.
For clients who wish to make
use of the AutoFax feature
of our reporting system,
these final reports will be
faxed directly to the
clients’ office within
minutes of being signed out.
For many of our clients up
and down the Valley, the
norm is to receive most
reports the day following
the surgical procedure.
Ease of Referral:
Pathology Associates
provides third party billing
through our in-house billing
service staffed with
helpful, knowledgeable
individuals. We are
Providers for, or contracted
with, most PPO & HMO
insurance products.
We are pleased to provide
supplies necessary for
tissue specimen collection
and/or fixation. We have
begun to deploy our own
dependable courier network
for local pick up and report
delivery. For our
out-of-area clients, we can
arrange supplies needed for
pre-paid shipping via FedEx,
UPS, or Airborne.
